IF you ever need to refer back to a message, picture or any other media sent via WhatsApp then you should take advantage of the handy search tool.
The search tool is much more convenient than scrolling all the way back through a chat and can find what you’re looking for in seconds.
How to search for messages on WhatsApp
To search for an old WhatsApp message you’ll need to remember a keyword from that specific message.
This might be something like “birthday” or “address”.
To use the WhatsApp in-chat search feature, open the chat in question and click the name at the top so the contact info comes up.
Then click “Chat Search”.
You then need to type in your keyword.
You may get multiple results depending on how long your WhatsApp chat is but you’ll be able to scroll through them all.
Try to keep your keywords specific and avoid spelling errors.
You can also search in all your active chats by opening the WhatsApp chat page and using the search bar at the top of the screen.
How to search for pictures, docs, links and other media on WhatsApp
Go to the relevant chat and open it.
Then, click on the name of the chat and then “Media, Links and Docs”.
Here you’ll be able to see all the media you’ve sent in this chat separated into monthly sections.
