The Bay season 2 cast: Who’s in the ITV drama?

THE Bay has returned to our screens for a second series.

The ITV show’s star line-up brings with it a mixture of old and new faces.

Who is in the cast of The Bay season two?

Morven Christie as DC Lisa Armstrong

Morven was born in Dunbartonshire, but grew up in Glasgow and Aviemore.

The Scottish actress has starred in many high-profile series including The A Word, Grantchester, and The Replacement.

In 2018 she also starred in Agatha Christie’s Ordeal By Innocence.

Morven reprises her role as Lisa Armstrong in the second series of The Bay – but she’s still being punished for her indiscretions in the first outing of the hit show.

Actor Joe Absolom is new to the series playing Andy Warren[/caption]

Joe sent shivers down viewers spines with his chilling performance as killer Christopher Halliwell in A Confession in 2019.

He joins The Bay as Lisa’s ex-husband, who is also dad to her two kids.

He is best known for playing Matthew Rose in EastEnders from 1997 to 2000.

The actor also played Al Large in Doc Martin alongside Martin Clunes.

Other TV credits include The Bill, Dangerfield and Silent Witness.

In 1997 Daniel landed his first recurring role on Trial & Retribution but has since gone on to star in a string of hit shows such as Mount Pleasant and Innocent.

He’s also known for his work in Doctor Who, Casualty and Home Fires.

The actor, who stars as Lisa’s boss in The Bay, has also been in movies Black Sea and Lipstick on Your Collar.

Actor Stephen has enjoyed a long career, but became a household name after starring in Ballykissangel alongside Dervla Kirwan from 196 to 1998.

In the early 2000s, he appeared in the mini-series In Deep, comedy Bedtime, Lucky Jim, In Denial Of Murder, Prime Suspect and Ted And Alice with Dawn French.

He played veterinarian Danny Trevanion in ITV’s Wild at Heart from 2006 to 2013 alongside Amanda Holden and Lucy-Jo Hudson.

Since then, he’s starred in DCI Banks and played Davey McKenzie in The Split.

He plays Stephen Marshbrook in The Bay, who appears to be part of a loving family.

About A Boy actress Sharon Small joins the cast of The Bay as Rose, the wife of lawyer Stephen.

Sharon is a familiar face on British screens having starred in The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, Mistresses, London Kills, Born To Kill and Trust Me.

In 2020 she played Stella in TV miniseries Flesh And Blood and Ruth in The Accidental Medium.

The Scottish actress will be a familiar voice to many kids as Neuron Bud in Nina And The Neurons.

Taheen made his professional screen debut on ITV’s The Bay season one, and is now back for the second series.

Following his training in Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, the actor has appeared in numerous theatre school plays and a couple of small-scale film productions.

His character has had a promotion since series one but as the new DS, Ahmed “Med” Kharim has a lot to deal with, including the demoted Lisa.

In 2019 Taheen was part of the cast for Arthur Miller’s play The American Clock at The Old Vic.

James is a Scottish actor best known for his appearances in the films Highlander, Braveheart, Trainspotting, Troy, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe, Ben-Hur and Wonder Woman.

TV wise, he has also appeared in Game Of Thrones and Sons of Anarchy.

He appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2017 and finished in fourth place.

James also starred in The Durrells as Captain Creech.

Lindsey Coulson as Penny

The London-born actress established her on screen career through her roles in EastEnders, Doctor Who, Casualty and Clocking Off.

Lindsey, 58, won the 2000 British Soap Award for Best Dramatic Performance for playing Carol Jackson in EastEnders.

She is Lisa Armstrong’s mum Penny in The Bay.

Imogen King plays Abbie Armstrong

Imogen returns as Abbie, Lisa’s rebel daughter.

The actress is probably best known for playing Rayna in BBC3’s second season of Clique.

She also had a walk-on part in the Oscar-winning film Darkest Hour.

Art Parkinson is back playing Rob Amstrong in The Bay season 2[/caption]

Art, 17, is best known for playing Rickon Stark – the youngest child of Eddard Stark – in the HBO series Game Of Thrones.

He is also known for voicing Kubo in the animated film Kubo and the Two Strings.

Art plays Lisa’s son in The Bay.

Owen McDonnell as Frank Mercer

Owen is new to the cast for The Bay season 2.

You may be scratching your head thinking where you know him from.

Well the actor plays Sandra Oh’s on-screen husband Niko Polastri in Killing Eve.

He is also known for shows including Responsible Child, Women on the Verge, Paula, My Mother and Other Strangers, and Mount Pleasant.

What will happen in The Bay series two?

Series two begins with Lisa Armstrong at a low ebb: forced to do menial police work while she watches Med go from strength to strength.

But a new case involving a shocking murder within a loving family brings Lisa unexpectedly back into the front line.

She must get under the skin of a new family and prove her worth; to her colleagues, to her family and to herself.

When is The Bay season two next on TV?

The show’s next episode can be viewed on February 3, 2021, at 9pm on ITV.
