THIS is the sickening moment thugs slashed at each other with giant blades in broad daylight – leaving a man battling for his life.
Neighbours screamed for the four brawlers to stop as they fought with knives, machetes and a hammer during a horrifying row on the streets of London.
Cops dashed to the scene after violence exploded in North Greenwich, leaving terrified locals begging for help.
But one man was critically hurt – and is facing a fight for his life in hospital.
A witness shot film of the men hacking at each other during the “terrible” brawl.
The disturbing footage shows the adult men lunging at each other with knives.
One, who is stripped to the waist and barefoot, holds a huge machete in one hand and a hammer in the other.
A second, in grey jogging bottoms and a navy t-shirt, can be seen with a carving-style kitchen knife.
Neighbours can be seen in the video dashing onto their balconies as the men shout.
One woman screams out: “It’s not worth it, stop it. F***ing stop it, all of you.”
At one point, the man with the machete appears to slash a second fighter’s wrist.
The man can be seen glancing at his injury before stepping forward and jabbing at his opponent’s face.
And in film recorded from another flat, a resident can be heard urging a woman to call police while two of the fighters spar.
The man with the machete chases the others around a bin collection truck while a worker in high-vis tries to get away.
But one of the thugs hides behind the truck – stepping out suddenly to punch out with his knife.
“There were four guys – they got into a fight and all of them had a knife,” the witness said.
“One of them had a machete almost 20 inches long.
“It looked like three of the guys were fighting the fourth. They all seemed to be on the same side, apart from him.
“The fight went on in a big circle around the buildings – it covered about 200 metres and it went on for about eight minutes.
“They were chasing each other, throwing bottles at each other, using the knives – it looked like more than just one was wounded, but the man who was injured looked to be in a bad way.
“They said he wasn’t doing well.”
Cops were called to residential Barge Walk, close to the River Thames, shortly before 4.30pm yesterday.
The area is popular with families and workers, the witness said.
“It was absolutely terrible – shocking,” he added.
“This is a nice area but it was like something you’d expect to see in Manaus in Brazil, rather than on the streets of London.”
A spokesperson from the Met Police has urged anyone with information on the frightening attack to come forward.
“Officers are investigating after a stabbing in Greenwich,” he said.
“Police were called at 4.23pm to Barge Walk in south-east London to reports of men fighting.
“A man was found at the scene with apparent stab wounds.
“London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene.
“The man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition.
“There are no arrests arrests at this time.
“A crime scene is in place and enquiries continue.”
