A RARE Ford Escort Cosworth — a favourite of boy racers — is up for sale at £92,500.
The asking price for the 28-year-old motor is more than four times its original £20,500 in 1993.
The pristine 144mph car has just 13,308 miles on the clock and is described as in “showroom condition”.
It was taken off the road by its owner in 1996 and has been kept in a climate-controlled garage.
The vehicle’s listing on auction site eBay says only 268 of the 7,145 Cosworths made are still on the road.
Many were written off by owners — and thieves, who stole them for joyrides.
This owner, in Hertfordshire, says of the manual, three-door Big Turbo model: “The condition is like new. Completely unrestored and original in iconic diamond white.
“The panels are in showroom condition. Full service history, including a fresh service and MOT.”
