MARTIN Lewis has revealed how thirsty Brits can grab free tea bags and milk from Asda, Sainsbury’s and the Co-Op.
The MoneySavingExpert founder explained how you can get free PG Tips Plus tea bags and Jord oat milk for free on the Martin Lewis Money Show.
To get your free box of PG Tips Plus, head to the tea maker’s website to sign up for the coupon, which will be sent via email or text to you.
There are three types of PG Tips Plus boxes you can choose from.
These are: PG Tips Plus Immunity, which includes Vitamin C; PG Tips Plus Metabolism, which contains Vitamin B12; and PG Tips Plus Caffeine, with added caffeine and Vitamin B6.
The box of tea bags is usually priced around £2.50, but you’ll be able to get the tea bags for free at the Co-Op.
How to get free food
YOU can can get free food from your supermarkets and favourite fast food chains.
But it can be hard to find out how, and where, you can get some groceries and snacks for free.
We’ve rounded up three ways to get free grub:
Sign up for apps
- If you download apps for your favourite chains, you might be in for some free treats. For example, KFC is currently offering free chicken wings through its app.
- Food waste apps like Olio let you pick up food near it’s expiry date for free
Sign up for newsletters
- Food chains will often alert you to free grub when you sign up to their newsletters. For example, Greggs offered a free breakfast roll and hot drink to the first 50,000 new customers who download it’s Rewards app last year.
Cash in on cashback websites
- Cashback websites, like Topcashback and Quidco, will essentially pay you to shop by clicking through one of their links. They’re paid by retailers for every click that comes to their website from the cashback site, which eventually trickles down to you. Sometimes the cashback works out at the same value as what you’ve spent in the first place, giving you a freebie.
PG Tips should send you a link after you’ve signed up for the voucher so you can check to see which Co-Op store near you is taking part in the deal.
Simply present the digital coupon at the checkout to get your tea for free.
You’ll have to use the voucher before February 17 and you’ll need to act fast – there’s only 7,000 coupons available.
And you can’t use the coupon alongside any other offer.
Martin also revealed how savvy shoppers can get Jord Organic Oat Drink 1L for free at Asda, Co-Op and Sainsbury’s.
You’ll have to buy the drink first, which costs £1.80, but you’ll be able to claim the money back for it after.
To get your cash back, you’ll need to install the supermarket deals and discounts app, Shopmium, first.
The app shows all the deals, discounts and vouchers on offer at major supermarkets that you can download.
It’s free to download from the App Store or Google Play.
Then you’ll need to scan your receipt in the app.
Shopmium will then automatically send your cash back directly into your bank account or PayPal account.
You’ll have to buy the drink before February 10, and you have three days after this to request your cash back.

You can also get heavily discounted, or free, food by using food apps.
You can get biscuits, bread and fresh produce approaching its expiry date from Tesco for free on Olio.
If you download the app – which is free to get on the App store or Google Play – you can browse to see what food is up for grabs.
Then, request the food by clicking on the red “Request This Listing” button, and you’ll be able to arrange a time to pick your grub up from an Olio volunteer.
Morrisons has been running a similar scheme with the Too Good To Go app for the past year, with one mum bagging £25 worth of food for just £3.
And one Greggs fan used the app to bag £11.45 worth of treats from the chain for just £2.59.
Here’s how to cut the cost of your grocery shop
SAVING on your shop can make a big difference to your wallet. Here are some tips from Money.co.uk about how you can cut the cost of your shopping bills:
- Write yourself a list – Only buy items that you need. If it isn’t on your list, don’t put it in the trolley

You can also get free food from big brands like Kelloggs and Malibu in exchange for reviews on the products if you sign up to product marketing website Tryit.
To join, you can sign up on their website and you’ll get an email asking for your confirmation.
Next you’ll be invited to set up an in-depth personal profile, which takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
Tyrit will only send you freebies once your profile is completed as it will be used to help match you to brands.
