KATE Ferdinand has revealed that she didn’t walk for SIX weeks and couldn’t leave her bedroom afer her “traumatic” emergency caesarean.
The 29-year-old star welcomed her first baby, son Cree, in December last year – and she has now opened up about the difficult birth.
The fitness fanatic is known for her regular workouts that she’d post to her Instagram page alongside husband Rio Ferdinand, but she has had to ease back into her active lifestyle after the C-section.
The new mum explained: “I had an emergency C-section, that’s like major stomach surgery, so you really have to ease yourself back in and listen to what the doctor said.
“I don’t think I could train for six weeks, I didn’t even really walk for six weeks I don’t think, and then I’ve been gradually building it up slowly.”
Kate added to The Mirror that she is “listening to her body” as she returns to training, as she admitted to being “traumatised” by the op.
In addition to baby Cree, Kate is stepmum to Rio’s children; 14-year-old Lorenz, 12-year-old Tate, and 10-year-old Tia.
She explained: “I did really struggle. I think I was a bit traumatised because I wasn’t expecting the C-section and I struggled with the fact I couldn’t do things with Cree and the big kids and it was Christmas.
“I do suffer with anxiety and my anxiety was at an all-time high in those times.”
Kate also revealed that she was “too sore” to leave her bedroom, and the added struggle of lockdown made the situation all the more “difficult” as she was unable to have visitors.

Earlier this week, the former Towie star told The Sun that she “didn’t recognise” her post-baby body, which left her feeling “overwhelmed”.
She told us at the time: “I was feeling really abnormal and I started panicking. ‘Am I meant to be feeling like this?’
“I was so happy but very emotional. And I was looking through social media and thinking, ‘Is this normal? Because no one ever says this’.”
Despite this, Kate insisted that she never planned to “bounce back” to her pre-baby figure, adding that she refused to “put pressure” on herself.
