JESSE LINGARD capped a stunning West Ham debut with two goals to help his team to a 3-1 win at Aston Villa.
The on-loan Manchester United star was the best player on the pitch by a mile as he instantly proved his point.
Lingard has barely made the bench for United this season, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer agreeing to send him to the Hammers for the rest of the season.
But at Villa Park the 28-year-old showed no ring rust as he played all-but second half injury-time in a starring performance.
Speaking after the game Lingard said: “Three points is the most important thing, the team worked hard as a collective. We are focussing on the next game, Fulham.
“I settled in fairly quickly and familiar faces has helped. The manager has worked hard on the training pitch.”
