CHANNEL 4’s new show Baby Surgeons: Delivering Miracle Babies had viewers in tears over young single mum Latifah making important surgery decision.
Baby Surgeons documentary series offered an amazing insight into a doctor’s and surgeon’s perspective of complicated births.
The show followed the story of a 22-year-old aspiring midwife who had to drop out of collage after she learnt she was pregnant with triplets.
When asked about the father, Latifah said: “He just decided he’s was not ready.”
When she learnt she was pregnant she said: “My brain can’t process it.”
Viewers praised the young mother-to-be for her bravery.
One viewer said: “Latifah is such a brave mama #BabySurgeons”
A second penned: “Latifah, my heart is breaking for you, everything crossed your triplets survive.”
Another wrote: “Baby Surgeons on Channel 4 got me balling my eyes out here.”
Her doctor also said: “She is such a strong woman… I admire how brave she is.”
However, doctors informed her that there was a high chance to go into labour too early, meaning the babies would not be mature enough to survive.
Latifah’s doctors advised her to stitch her cervix to prolong pregnancy – but it was a risky procedure.
She added that miscarriage “scares me” and that she has “put all my trust in the doctors and hopes for the best.”
Latifah’s dad passed away and her mum was in Jamaica, but she had her best friend and her mum.
She admitted: “But I know in reality it is going to be hard.”
After a successful procedure with no waters breaking, Latifah was very thankful for her “three little princesses.”
At the end of the episode, we see Latifah holding all three of her babies while she said: “I did it!”
She named them Za’lahni, Ah’zari and Zeh’rai.
